“Whatever You Like” moved from 71-1 in its third week on the survey, giving the Atlanta-based artist his first-ever chart-topper as a lead artist.
“I guess people like the song — I hope that’s what accounts for it,” T.I. told Billboard.com Friday in Detroit, where he was making a pair of community service appearances to speak to local youth. It’s part of 1,000 hours he’s required to serve in conjunction with his 2007 federal weapons conviction. “I think it’s a new sound for me, something people aren’t necessarily used to hearing. It’s one of those risky records. It just happened to work in our favor.”
As to how this bodes for “Paper Trail,” which comes out Sept. 30 and follows two previous No. 1 albums (2006’s “King” and 2007’s “T.I. vs. T.I.P.”), T.I. cautioned, “I can’t be overly optimistic. Sept. 30 is still on the way. I can’t count numbers until they actually hit the paper, but I’m always optimistic when my albums are about to be released. I have very high expectations of myself, and very seldom do I meet them. But it’s definitely off to a great start.”
When “Paper Trail” rolls out, however, T.I. will be starting a new film, “Bone Deep,” an action drama in which he’s starring with Chris Brown, Matt Dillon, Jay Hernandez and others as “a group of young, fly, intelligent bank robbers.” The film is slated to wrap in November, after which T.I. — who faces a year in jail at some point on the weapons charge — says he plans to tour to support the album.

She’s a crazy MC in this area..and she will RIP any show!!..I want FEEDBACK good people!!
Yeah, this will be my ANTHEM right now! With a lot going on in the industry you sometimes have to sit back and say you know what? “I Ain’t Worried About It”. The track is by the artist BAMA hailing from the ATL (my second home).
I got the link from P.Brown of ATL. She is the CEO of Streettalk Newspaper and Co-CEO of the ATL Record Pool. She is doing her thing and I definitely commend her on holding her own in this male dominated industry, something I strive to do everyday here in the DMV. Show her some love by checking out her MySpace. Also, to the artists reading this post right now, seriously check her out and everything she is doing. They show love in ATL!! Get CONNECTED and make it POP! :o)

Obama Speech Part 1
Obama Speech Part 2
I really have to say he left me speechless last night. To witness history was an amazing feeling that I will hold on to forever. He is such an inspiration and to have his acceptance speech fall on the 45th Anniversary of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” was very profound. Barak Obama is in a league of his own and I know he will bring CHANGE to the United States of America. As I sit back and think, I couldn’t have been more PROUD last night to be an AMERICAN. He brought hope back to everyone, and as one nation last night, we shouted “YES WE CAN!”
Yes, you read right. JD & Company will be in DC and I have been hearing radio ads about this event, so I’m thinking it will be a pretty big one. I know SOOOOO many rappers right now and I hope all of them will take advantage of this great opportunity, and if you don’t make it? That’s OKAY! Gaining the experience is 10x more better :o) Not to mention networking with other folks in your area and the reps that will be present. The following dates and locations for the “Survival of the FRESHEST” are at the bottom. Have fun and REPRESENT for the DMV!!
Have any of you heard about this news? I have been following this event since I came across the MySpace page in Feb. I think it’s wonderful that they will be coming to DC! This is a MAJOR event and if you are ANYONE in the music inudstry (ie. artist, publicist, manager, hypeman..etc) you NEED to be there! I will say that I am not happy with the media coverage. I have yet to hear anything on the major stations here. -SHRUGGS- Can’t win everything right? LOL. Needless to say, please follow the links I provide for more information! See you guys Saturday! (hope it doesn’t rainnnnnnnn)
