Discovering their passion for hip hop during the “backpack era” of the late 90’s, they began making a name for themselves in showcases, cyphers & battles throughout the city’s South Side. Around this time Dave began djing locally and producing in efforts to develop a unique sound. Collaborations with fellow artists and friends such as underground legend, Skech185, resulted in 2001’s “A Tale of Two Cities”, 2002’s “Drawbridge EP”, 2003’s “Idle Hands” & “7 Years In The Making” and 2004’s “SK Presents…”.
Briefly stepping away from the booth to complete their respective college degrees in St. Louis, the Paxtons became entrenched in the entertainment industry with the establishment of lifestyle brand South Shore Social Club in 2006. The creative outlet produced forays in college radio, television, innovative nightlife and a self-titled streetwear label. Since relocating to the District, The Paxtons have established their presence as tastemakers of music, art and fashion via Philly-based You Hype! Sike Nah… with style icon Call Me… Mr. Garr.
The Paxtons’ sound is characterized by massive arrangements, profound lyricism, pop culture, and an unwavering love for the hood. With influences ranging from 90s Hip-Hop to New Jack Swing to Chicago’s House Scene, expect nothing more than an emphasis on quality music that resonates as a soundtrack for everyday life.

I would like to start this post off with saying I am truly blessed to be a part of this wonder event! I’m honored to have R&B Live DC as one of my clients.
Tonight, set the standard of what Washington, DC has to offer the music industry and to our area as a whole. This is something that was needed and it will only get bigger in the months coming :o)
R&B Live DC took place at Posh Supper Lounge. UK’s own Michelle Harris hosted the event, she has such a funky, cool girly feel to her. DJ Huckfin was spinning and the house band BLUSH (ALL female) was AMAZING. Tamika Jones was the opening act and she was great! Then the lady of the hour, Marsha Ambrosius (of Floetry) hit the stage and blessed everyone with her heavenly voice. She did songs “Say Yes”, “Butterflies” and others. It was truly a TREAT! There was a mix of everyone in the building. You had DC socialites, Grammy award winning producer Chucky Thompson, Washington Redskin Clinton Portis, former Redskin and now owner of The Sideline (at the BLVD.) Lavar Arrington, Studio 43, Councilmen and so many others. The next R&B Live DC will be OCTOBER 21st. Please take note :o) Enjoy the flicks! Shout out to Anwaa of Elite DC Magazine. ALWAYS holding it down for his city!! Oh! Shout out to Supa Scotty for jumping on the mic towards the end. Your the best babe!!
