    DC Community Event: Zimbabwe Education Fund Presents: Shaping Lives Charity Bash

    **This looks like it will be a great event to be a part of. Please think about going to the event and learning about something NEW:o) Also, for someone who donate’s $100 you will recive free champagne and hors d’oeuvres all night and be able to relax in the VIP area :o) NICE!     Zimbabwe Education Fund| Shaping Lives Charity Bash 

    Friends, family, colleagues….It’s that time of year again!  The Zimbabwe Education Fund’s annual fundraiser, SHAPING LIVES, is quickly approaching.  The event will be held on November 19th 2009 at 7PM at the socially conscious (uniquely)  superb ChiCha Lounge , located at 1624 U St. NW Washington D.C. 

     

    From all over the DC, Virginia and Maryland area, professionals will gather in an effort to raise awareness about the power of education, the crippling effects of poverty, and the ground breaking work ZEF is doing at the Chimukopa Primary School in Zimbabwe. The goal of raising funds will directly address the educational crisis in Zimbabwe.

     

    Purchase your ticket TODAY! and enjoy an evening of food, wine, dessert tasting, and the art of a local female African artist (www.jackielaryea.com). There will also be a silent auction and gift give-a-ways including all inclusive spa treatments, artwork, DVDs, and more (courtesy of ZEF sponsors)! Tickets include admissions to the event, one complimentary drink and a raffle ticket.  100% of the proceeds from tickets sales will go directly to support education in Zimbabwe.

    This video got me together at work today LOL. My one question is “When is Robin coming back to DC for a show?” I WILL be there! Wooooo Weeee! Paula Patton is one lucky lady and congrats to them both! They are expecting their first child in spring 2010! :o)

    RECAP: Legendary RAKIM at Stussy DC

    The event took place in DC, Sunday Nov 15th as Rakim was in town for a show at the Black Cat. It’s 10 years or so since he has released an album and the “Seventh Seal” is his latest. The meet & greet was presented by DCtoBC & StussyDC. I heard it was a very successful event. I was on the road back to the DMV from NC when it was going on soooo I missed it :o(

    NEW MUSIC VID: Beyonce x Lady Gaga [Video Phone]

    Word to EVERYONE on Twitter last night when this final version hit the net! LOL. Everyone was tweeting about it. I was out on an errand but shout out to the HTC Ozone that I have noe (along with the BB) I was able to view it! I watched this video like 5 times last night. The fashion, colors, creativity..everythning is on point. It was directed by Hype Williams and I think having Lady Gaga on this extended remix is HOT! They really are the top divas right now in this game, just KILLING it! Beyonce DID THAT and I will leave it at that. You be the judge.

    Wale’s “Attention Deficit” IN STORES NOW! x Taking DC by Storm Tomorrow!

    A few days back, I did a post about Wale’s in store appearance at DTLR (in MD) 11.11.09 but it looks like he will also be doing another in store appearance in DC as well. Geesh!  He will definitely have a busy schedule tomorrow evening.. LOL. First DTLR, C’Monwealth, Ibiza (album release) and then Josephine’s (after party) so hats off to him.     Moving on, today is definitely a big day in the DMV. No matter what you feelings are towards Wale, this is a great moment for Hip Hop in DC. The energy on Twitter has been crazy I have to admit. Everyone is trying their best to get #WALE, #ATTENTIONDEFICIT, #DMV as trending topics. So, DC will definitely be the city to be in tomorrow night! :o)

    R&B Singer Lloyd’s EP Cover Revealed [Coming in December]

    So I was on Twitter checking on my timeline and saw Lloyd post that the cover to his upcoming EP “Like Me: The Young Goldie EP” cover has been revealed (above) and will be coming out in December (no actual sate yet) I, for one am looking forward to the EP. I have really enjoyed his record with Lil Wayne titled “Pusha”.

    Lloyd is set to release an independent EP project this December titled Like Me: The Young Goldie EP. Of the project, Lloyd says, “Some of the music is a lot more personal than in the past. It’s about my life. I wanted to tell my own story instead of letting others define who I am”. The EP will feature the new single, “Pusha” feat. Lil Wayne (produced by The Runners), plus 6 additional tracks with appearances by Bun-B, J. Holiday, Nicki Minaj, Juelz Santana, Richboy, Drake and others.
