Legendary Radio Host Donnie Simpson’s Last Day on WPGC

So today it seems like an era has ended. Donnie Simpson had his last show at WPGC this morning. This was a very sad moment for me because I grew up with Donnie Simpson, even during his days on WKYS. Donnie has given this community so much of himself and I thank him for that. He did make sure to let the people know that this is NOT A RETIREMENT. I am SO glad about that, and I hope he may end up back on TV (which he sort of gave a hint out at the end) but I know whereever he ends up I will support!
I also took some time this morning to reflect back on the memories I have with Donnie Simpson. The first that comes to mind is when I was a soph. in college (Morgan State Univ) and I decided to interview him for a project in my radio class. Never thought I would be granted the opportunity to sit down with him, but I tried and succeeded! I had the honor to interview Donnie at the station while he was on the air (asked questions between segments) and it was something I will NEVER forget. I recieved an A on the paper as well :o)
So, to Donnie Simpson, GOOD LUCK with the next chapter in your book. It was a pleasure waking up to you to SO many years! LOVE YOU :o)
Shoutout to FOX 5 for Providing some Coverage on this Historic Moment
