R&B Live DC Has a New Location, New Look & Welcomes Keke Wyatt

 Continuing to be Washington, DC’s Premiere Spotlight

Washington, DC (July 8, 2009) – With the summer months continuing to heat up and with the music getting better, R&B Live DC is proud to make some minor adjustments. R&B Live DC will now be held at Station 9 which a jazzy, modern venue on the historic U St. There will continue to be great food; live music and some of today’s top tastemakers will be in the building. For the month of July R&B Live DC is proud to present Keke Wyatt. Keke came onto the scene 2001 with her debut cd “Soul Sista” which sold over 600,000 units and had two hit single’s “Nothing in this World” and “My First Love” with R&B singer Avant. Since then Keke has changed record labels but is now working as an independent artist and is going to release a new album titled “Ghetto Rose” in the fall. The host of R&B Live DC this month will be the lovely producer of the show, Carla Truitt. We will also be joined by DC’s own legendary DJ Kool spinning. Opening the show will be Stax Records recording artist N’dambi. She is a Texan native and is no stranger to the industry. She toured as a background singer for Grammy Award winning artist Erykah Badu and also co-wrote “Baduizm” and “Mama’s Gun”. R&B Live DC would also like to say Happy Birthday to Lindsay Guion who will be celebrating his birthday at this month’s show. He is the manager of Grammy Award winning R&B singer D’Angelo and singer-songwriter Jaguar Wright. This month’s event will be power packed and is a definite add onto your calendar of events.

 Universal Motown Artist Kicks Off Summer Edition of R&B Live DC

 Washington, DC’s Premiere Spotlight

Washington, DC (June 11, 2009) – It’s officially summer and R&B Live DC has an incredible series lined up for those steamy months! Live music, great people, great food and drinks. What more could you ask for? This month will continue to be a jam packed event with an energy and groove that cannot be found anywhere else in Washington, DC every third Tuesday of each month. On Tuesday, June 16th R&B Live DC is proud to announce that Universal Motown recording artist Hal Linton will be at Posh Restaurant & Supper Lounge. Hal is from the Caribbean island Barbados and was born into a family full of musicians. In 2007 he won four awards at the Barbados Music Awards for his song “Cardiac Arrest”, which included the Song of the Year. In 2008 he relocated to New York City and that is where he met Sylvia Rhone and she signed him to Universal Motown. He is currently working on his debut album “Return of the Future”. R&B Live DC will be hosted by WKYS personality Antonio “The Cuban Cigar Smoker” and DJ Huck Fin will be spinning. The opening act for this month’s R&B Live DC will be a homegrown act. She goes by the name of Paula Campbell and is from Baltimore, MD. A few years back when Paula independently released her first single “How Does It Feel”, it lead to her release of her first album “Who Got Next” and she opened up to the likes of Kanye West, David Banner and Fabolous.  Washington, DC’s Unsigned Artists Vol.2

 R&B Live DC is the City’s Spotlight

Washington, DC (March 9, 2009) - R&B Live DC provided the city with a power packed event last month with our unsigned artists edition and now it’s back by popular demand. On Tuesday, March 17^th R&B Live DC proudly welcomes special guest Terrence Cunningham to Posh Restaurant & Supper Lounge. Terrence is a Maryland native and is the great nephew of Jazz Legend Etta Baker. Terrence posses a unique sound and is best described as “alternative soul. He has shared the stage with Ledisi, Emily King and others. He has also shared the stage with Ayanna Gregory, daughter of comedian Dick Gregory during a tribute for Dick. Terrence is currently working on new material.

R&B Live DC is pleased to announce that WKYS personality Antonio “The Cuban Cigar Smoker” will be hosting R&B Live DC this month as DJ Huck Fin spins. Also sharing the stage this month is Alison Carney. She grew up in Washington, DC but spent a lot of time in New York City. She is classically trained on the piano and has shared the stage with Grammy-nominated artists Raheem DeVaughn, Wayna and Kokayi. Alsion is part of the new age of R&B singers and takes you on a journey with her lyrics and her deliverance.

Washington Redskin’s Clinton Portis & Santana Moss & Carla Truitt (R&B Live DC Founder & Producer)

As many of you know, I handle the PR for R&B Live DC and the kick off for 2009 was held Jan. 13th. The venue was Posh Resturant & Supper Club and the crowd was very grown & sexy. The performances were by Miriamm Wright and Kevin Ross, both from the DC area. The event was hosted by Carla Truitt (founder & producer of R&B  Live Dc). We had Grammy nominated producer Chucky Thompson in the building, Deangelo Redman (Making the Band 3), Clinton Portis (Washington Redskins), Santana Moss (Washington Redskins) and many other DC socialites in the building.  Shout out to Kenny (from WKYS) and DJ Heat (from WPGC) for coming through and showing love!
