So I had the great pleasure to attend XO’s listening party last night. I was straight off the flight from LA and hitting the DC scene again felt good! There were a lot of people there, most of them I knew because the industry is quite small here LoL  but XO did his thing! Dude is READY hands down! He has incredible energy and the folks love him! So kudos to the Studio 43 team for recognizing that in him. All I ask is that you check out the music and then comment but I know you won’t be disappointed :o) Enjoy!

Now I have been waiting for this one! Marky (Studio 43/SRC/Universal) started his campaign a couple of weeks ago, leaking two tracks from the project. All I have to say is WELL DONE Marky! I’m guessing to some folks the title “Nothing is 43ver” is like a “hmmmm, what’s going on?” but who knows..all I know is that this is great production, lyrics are there..nice! Seriously! I mean the work speaks for itself, I won’t sit on here and tell how you need to download this (even thought you DO) :o) but my FAV track is “City on my Back”. Like that joint GOOOOES! Yeah, so this is going to be one of the SICKEST shows to happen in DC tomorrow night! Seriously! You need to be there if your in the area! if your in Philly, NYC just do a road trip. You will NOT be disappointed!

The 411:

Basically, it was a mash up between DMV producers & artists that usually would not work together. The different producers remixed a certain “Reasonable Doubt” track and MAGIC happened! Someone REALLY needs to get this to the man Jay-Z himself. I KNOW he would appreciate creativity like this. I was actually able to be in the studio when Lyriciss (client) was doing some recording on his track that Kokayi produced :o) THEN Overok (THE man) sent out some footage of Grammy Nominated Raheem DeVaughn laying down some hooks for a track. NICE!

The performances will be like NO other and I WILL be doing some LIVE “tweeting” while in the bulding tomorrow :o) Shout out to Innerloop Records for ALWAYS doing their thing and keeping it real and true to hip hop in the DMV. REAL TALK..Innerloop Records gets it poppin! April 22nd is the next BEATDOWN too..and 9th Wonder is one of the feature Producers..YESSSSS!

“This song represents my “stand-alone” mentality. I almost picture myself walking down a gloomy path with my inner voice telling me to “Turnaround.” Then my “vain brain” (google it lol) is trying to tell me why its ok to move on. I almost feel like Pac out on bail!!!! lol”

The track is produced by FASTRAX and titled “Turnaround”and it’s off of his mini-album due out 4.3.09 titled “Nothing is 43ver” The vocals on the track are provided by Darren B. I am really enjoying what Marky (Studio 43/SRC/Universal) is doing/going with his music. Just sit back and actually listen..he is saying a lot. Enjoy Folks!

He hails from Washington, DC is signed to Studio 43/SRC/Universal. This single is the first off of his mini-album “Nothing is 43ver” which is due 4.3.09. Get it?! Well, “Delusional” is produced by AB The Producer so enjoy folks! I am personally diggin the track and have been in Marky’s corner since 07 when I met him. He came to my FIRST event held at Republic Gardens for my Entertainment Mixer and he’s a real dude so many congrats to him and I can’t wait to hear the final project.
